Sande Sanyu

In Wakiso District of Uganda East Africa at Nansana Town Council, five miles from Kampala City Sande Sanyu pastors a group of people and has a heart for orphans in his area. The began classes February 5th of 2007. They work with what they have with very limited facilities and supplies. To the right is the building they are working on to house the classrooms and children as they teach them about God and the Good News of Jesus Christ. With around 150 orphans to minister to the blessings are immense but so is the need.

Sande Sanyu grew up in an extremely harsh environment. Before he was thirteen years of age his step father had tried to take his life by hanging then seven years later beat him so severely that he wound up in the hospital for two months. At thirteen years of age he joined the army of their current president. His brother had joined in 1981 and Sande followed him in 1982. Soon after his brother was killed. In the military he learned to drink and use drugs. In 1983 Sande was captured by the enemy who intended to execute him but by the mercy of God he managed to escape. He returned home in 1984 only to be chased from his home. Miraculously he was rescued from death several times.

By 1992 so many things had happened that he contemplated suicide. He was so angry at his family that he intended to take the lives of his brothers and sisters. But one night after drinking and fighting he left the bar and was smitten down in the road. People gathering around him thought him to be dead but he actually saw a vision from God which led him down the road to recovery.

Many tragedies have befallen this man but today he stands with a burden for the lost and for widows and orphans. On this site are the pictures of the work he is beginning with the help of the Lord.
